Amanee Avery is a Jazz and R&B saxophonist from Rockford Illinois. Amanee began her studies on saxophone at the age of 12 at RESA middle school where she played in the school; band, upon completing middle school Amanee graduated from Auburn high school where she participated in the CAPA, creative and performing arts program.After high school Amanee continued her music studies at Bradley University where she graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Music, while at Bradley. Amanee toured Italy performing with the Bradley University Jazz Ensemble, she had also performed at the largest music festival in Europe, Umbria Jazz Festival. Amanee has performed with the Peoria Symphony Orchestra and various jazz artist such as Wycliffe Gordon, for lead trombone in Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Jedd Coffin, Saxophone player for The Dave Matthews Band, Wayne Bergeron, lead trumpet in the Gordon Goodwin’s Big fat band, and various others. Amanee is also proficient in piano as well as clarinet. Amanee’s major musical influence comes from artists such as Grover Washington Jr, Cannonball Adderley, and Tia Fuller ( saxophonist for Beyonce}. Since graduating from Bradley University Amanee has taught music in the Rockford are for the past three years. Amanee recently signed with “Deep End Productions” a local Rockford record label started byDuntai, Cedric, Steve, and Brian. Amanee plans to begin recording int he near future as well as performing at local venues in the Rockford Area.
